The Genesis Convention Center is a building in Gary, Indiana that was completed in 1981 as an addition to the (now demolished) Sheraton Hotel.

In the building’s history, it has held conventions, pageant, high school graduation, funeral ceremonies, and concerts including Whitney Houston, Ludacris, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Prince and more.

The building also has held a series of World Wrestling Federation house shows. These wrestling cards were found on the Wrestling Data website without match results and Cagematch does not have these events in their records. There is a possibility that the results of these shows that included wrestlers like Andre the Giant, Ultimate Warrior, Demolition, Randy Savage, Bret Hart, and Jake Roberts may be lost to time (although the outcome for a lot of matches can be assumed)

The building also hosted an Extreme Championship Wrestling house show in 1999.

The building currently stands in a dilapidated condition, as the building starts to age as well as people’s attempts to harvest resources from the building including copper.

In October 2020, there were plans for Akyumen Industries, a cellphone device manufacturer, to purchase the building and move their headquarters from Los Angeles but by 2022, those plans fell through.

The building is owned by the Gary Redevelopment Commission.
